demolition

• Day 20: not so bad, a bit hungry. you are ready to decide for your self what to eat.
• the last few days have been rough - a bit sad, tired and more emotional than usual.  today was better, therefore, some projects were completed.
• you are ready for the house to be clean and organized again!  so much dust.  so much construction.  so much chaos.

the demolition process...

should have taken a complete before picture...but this will work.  i know, i know - you are probably thinking this bathroom looks pretty good, but hear me out.  the water in the shower leaks through the walls, the tile in the shower is not actual shower tile, it doesn't clean well and the whole bathroom felt heavy and dark.

the only thing to be reused in the remodel is the sink, toilet, the light and the cabinets. 

the floor was the most time consuming to destruct.  the tile was mortared to the backer board which was screwed in AND mortared to the linoleum.  brilliant.

oddly, i do not have a completely gutted bathroom pic, but  this one gives a feel of the mess we made.

the bathroom used to be a jack and jill but the previous owners separated the two.  we  undid all their hard work.  to the left of this picture shows where the closet was and a little of where the new door will go.
