changes at home

note to self:

• your husband is the best.  sleeping in, coffee (cinnamon mocha frap for me), christmas shopping in the snow, mexican and a movie.  the everyday stuff, together, casual, important.
• handmade gifts are satisfying to give.  extra thought and preparation required - but worth the effort.
• people are becoming worse drivers everyday.  don't! give in.
• you have awesome friends.  cherish them.  invest in them.  be awesome back!

changes around the homestead...

we decided to create a movie room in the basement.  LOVE it.  the only thing we bought was the projector, the screen and a can of paint.  everything else was repurposed, reorganized or built. anyone is welcome to come watch a movie - you know you want to! 

(john built a carpeted platform for one half of the couch.  he also built the shelf for the projector and front speaker.)

(the rug was the inspiration for the wall color and we had all the matching pillows and decorations on hand.  i shortened the curtains and doubled them to make it extra dark)

 a few months ago we made a trip to ikea.  we bought a new living room.  we should not go to ikea for a while...

i also LOVE this space.  it is so cozy, especially in the evenings. lamps lit, fireplace burning, a good book and a blanket.
