sunday rest

Exhaustion ensued, so we slept in on Sunday morning. [Yes, we missed church. But sometimes you need true rest, spiritual rest, so true worship can happen. And for us, most Sundays are not truly restful. We needed yesterday in so many facets.]

Lazily made our way out of bed. Ate breakfast.

Read the passage we would have heard the sermon on and prayed together.

Sat and talked. Played with the cat.

Undecorated from the night before.

Posted on the blog. Fitted our backpacks for the upcoming trip.

Ate lunch. [Delicious leftovers from the night before.] Watched tv.

Hiked Adam’s Canyon. [Beautiful] Showered.

Friends came and ate dinner. Laughed. Chilled.

Slept.

An entire day, nothing but worship expected of us. Prayer, awe, and thankfulness for the Lord’s blessings and creation came from a deeper place, a genuine, humbled heart. What would I give to have every day, every moment be like yesterday.

I am so thankful for the man the Lord gave to me. That I get to share this life with him – his laugh, his smile, his ups and downs, his hobbies, his family, his heart. I am honestly passionate for this man and pray that I do not take for granted the way he holds my heart.

  1. Ker! What a great post! There's nothing wrong with a little rest on Sundays. They are "the day of rest" :) Glad we could get in on the action and spend some good time with you guys! Love you!

  2. I just looked up the zoo hours... and they close the gates at 5:00 but the grounds are open until 6:30 - so if we plan for 3:30? We could make that work!
