Merry Christmas!
Christmas on a Sunday? Some gripe, some do not take notice. But the Lord works in mysterious ways. Christmas day rotates, as some holidays do, it is not on a set day of the week. Maybe to guarantee extra time to focus on and celebrate the Savior and His birth while all the wrappings are left at home? Maybe.
Born just like us, lived like no one else could, died for a cause no one else can, raised, LIVES to reign in us. Joy to the world!
We serve a mighty, sovereign, humble, holy God.

fun organizing boxes
i didn't want to go buy all sorts of organizing boxes, so i used the many shoe boxes i have kept over the years. wrapped them in paper and put tags on them.
yay! no more digging through tupperware containers to find a pencil or marker.
everything is just a little more organized in a more stylish way...the final pictures will be posted soon.

John's Birthday
John turned 29! (a couple weeks ago - i'm a little behind) We tried celebrating, just the two of us, the night before his birthday. Dinner. Dessert. Movie. But, none of it quite went as planned. We couldn't eat at the restaurant he wanted because the wait was HUGE and a potential of the restaurant to run out of food! So we went to another, and it was a dissappointing experience. So then we thought we would redeem the night with some frozen yogurt. We tried using the buy one get one free coupon, but the manager was in the bathroom and we weren't able to. WHAT?! yeah. So we just went home and watched a movie, I fell asleep, and that was that.
The wind storm happened a couple days before his birthday so we did clean up all weekend and helped a friend move, so needless to say...when I asked John if he felt older this year he quickly answered YES.
But still handsome as ever!
We celebrated on his birthday with my family. Dinner and games!
I just think this is funny :)
John got the sweatshirt he is wearing, the torque wrench he is holding and a new coffee pot!
Did you survive?
THE DECEMBER 1ST WILD WEST WINDSTORM??
Okay, so that might sound a little extreme :) but for those of you that don't live in Utah, it was pretty nuts! Hurricane Category 2 winds, which NEVER happens here. And there was a ton of damage all along the Wasatch Front.
This was our neighbor's tree that landed six feet from our house!
The tree took up the entire front yard! And was as tall as the house on it's side!
We wanted to get a picture with one of us in it for scale, but we didn't. The roots were taller than me when I stood next to them!
Thankfully, there was no damage to our home. Our roof was re-shingled this summer and it held on tight. Our neighbors we not so lucky.
Mona loved all the branches! She was dragging them all over the yard and back again.
We are so grateful that all our family and friends were safe. Car limbs through back windows while driving, lost fences and roofs, flying debris and downed trees. Much repair and replacement and a new appreciation for those who live in areas where natural disasters happen more often than not.
