...

Okay...my last post was a little stab at satire and so now I shall update all the masses about my life. There is a light at the end of the tunnel concerning school. I should graduate in May barring there is no unknown, belittling rule which would prohibit that. As of now I know of none, but we will see once I apply for graduation. Work continues, and I am trying to have a attitude as described by Keri in her earlier post about work. I have also accepted that I work for a scrapbooking company, in the warehouse yes, but for a scrapbooking company still the same. To say that more was happening in my life would be an over statement, but yet I am content. In closing I feel I should thank you for your time. Thank you.

Hey this is John

So far all the posts have been from Keri and she has been getting after me to post something. To this point I have been racking my brain trying to figure out something witty, funny, or inspirational to write....then I remembered this was a blog.....so hi....

work

work is usually a dreadful, undesirable activity that seems to go on and on and on...does it have to be? is it supposed to be? the Bible's answer to both of these is NO! through a couple different studies God has reminded me that He gave us work, as a way to express our creativity and labor with our hands and minds. it was how man was created and was a delight before the fall, not a result of sin. it is in God's nature to work, as He shows us through creation, and we are stamped in His image, designed to labor and create.

soooo...my new goal is to change my attitude about work, be the best employee i can be and do it solely for His glory and honor. not to strive to better myself and status but so other's can see a difference in me. it also makes me realize that this life should be spent doing work we love, not in a job we detest, something we look forward to each day. so if you're not doing that, and you have the opportunity to change...change! and if you're like us, keep striving for the day when you can do something you love and enjoy the journey.

small world

i met a gal last night at church that has my same name. spelled the same, picked out by our dads because they liked how it was spelled over all the other options. we're not the same age but close. she remembers meeting me when we were younger at a church thing and knew my friend beth. there are so many strange similarities...we both sing, both of our husbands play guitar (and they actually knew each other when they were younger through camp and awana), both have cats, both have only dated our husbands and they've only dated us, met our husbands when we were fifteen...and that was just what we found out on the first meeting! it was neat to meet her, she's a sweet gal and i'm glad to have a new friend!

what keri's up to...

it's hard to believe that i've been working at the credit union for almost a year now. i like everything about it except working saturdays and mean people! i'm constantly cleaning the apartment and trying to keep it neat, forgetting about the laundry in the washer (like right now...it's been sitting there for two hours while i've been creating this thing) and spend the rest of my time hanging with john.

we are trying to exercise more together, motivated mostly by biggest loser, running and walking around the complex. and we've also been sitting down at the keyboard with the guitar playing worship songs, reading the Bible and praying together before we go to bed (not every night, because we aren't perfect, but more often then not). it's been really great! i'm truly thankful for a husband who strives after God and encourages me to do the same.

if and when i have time i usually work on something crafty or artsy or cozy up on the couch for a movie. i'm really trying to enjoy the now, finding my satisfaction and contentment in Christ, and not trying to figure out what's to come.

our pets

sage. she is a three and half year old yellow lab we got at the beginning of this year. she is well trained, very gentle and sweet. one of her legs is a little shorter than the other so she limps and can't do alot of running, but she is so smart and a great dog. she is always sitting up like a gopher and ready to play.

pumpkin. we rescued her from a pretty rough situation almost four years ago and she has been queen of our home since. she thinks she belongs outside, always meowing at the front door and windows, but too skiddish to be out there for long. she loves to play and be loved but only on her agenda.
